Portfolio—Benefits Modeler
Project Summary
The Benefits Modeler (Choose Well) was a very rewarding project. Our U.S. Total Rewards business owner approached my team with an idea to provide U.S. employees the ability to model their year over year benefits and save a list of their elections to refer to when the Open Enrollment period began.
We worked with the business owners to develop the initial design and based on annual feedback from them and employees, we iteratively enhanced the experience for subsequent annual releases.

"Entry" Page
The business owner wanted to encourage a specific initial flow to help guide employees through the experience. The full navigation menu was removed from the Entry Page and buttons were used to provide defined entry points. On desktop, the stock photo provided visual interest and contrast whereas on mobile it was removed to simplify the experience.

"What's New" Page
This was a basic, informational page with no interactive elements within the main body. The informational hierarchy followed a standard format and simply conveyed substantial changes to the following year's benefits. Of note, the actionable icons at the top right on desktop moved to a fixed location at bottom in mobile.

"Medical Plans" Page
This page was designed to provide employees a very clear, side-by-side comparison of their premiums and coverage. Employees were shown their current year's information and could use the drop-down menus to model what their next year's cost & coverage would look like.

"Flexible Spending Account (FSA)" Page
Other pages were designed implementing a simple, tiled format using dynamic language to communicate why the employee was being given certain choices based on previous actions.
